Established in cooperation with the Kenya Wildlife Service and the Jane Goodall Institute for Conservation Projects for Chimpanzees throughout the World, Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary offer gentle and charming environment for children and adults alike, tourists get a lifetime opportunity to boat ride on the Ewaso Nyiro River, which flows through the sanctuary where orphaned chimps enjoy the peace and harmony of their natural environment.

Due to its closeness to city center, is a preferred retreat of wilderness and safari lovers. It’s a memorable encounter which has made tourist to frequently visit the park

Besides coming face to face with chimpanzees, the park ahs a water hole and saltlick which attracts the big five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo) thus enabling guests to enjoy close encounters with the wildlife. The Conservancy boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, it also houses four of the seven last remaining northern white rhino in the world, who were moved here from Dvůr Králové Zoo in the Czech Republic.  The conservancy has the highest ratio of game to area of any park or reserve in Kenya.

Accommodation
Various tented camps with state of the art facilities and various cuisines are provided to suit various classes. Guest room facilities include power outlet for hair dryer, shaver, sockets (Hairdryer available on request from the Reception Desk). Laundry and valet services are provided. Tourists get a chance to enjoy various safari luncheons, camp fire, bush dinners and safari cocktails – sundowners.

Activities:
Chimpanzee sightseeing and photo taking – Tourists get a chance to see Chimpanzee at close range and take photos.
Lion Tracking – in morning hours, tourists get a unique chance with Conservancy’s predator research team that has hands on experience with a tracking device to get close up to these amazing big cats.
Amusement at night and day – in company of tour guide, you will get a chance to watch various wild animals at night. The beauty of their eyes glowing in the dark is magnificent. At day time get a chance to enjoy the following activities; camel-trekking, bird-watching, and wide range of local cuisines after a safari trek.
The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is situated here, and provides a haven for orphaned, abandoned and rescued chimpanzees. It is the only place in Kenya where these great apes can be seen. The Conservancy is host to the ‘big five’ among a large selection of other African animals, which makes it a popular safari destination.
