Lake Turkana National Parks
Lake Turkana is the largest desert lake in the world. Widely known as the Jade Sea because of the remarkable incandescent color of its waters, the Lake itself is a natural treasure, with the world’s single largest crocodile population. The Lake has reptiles that grow to a record size with some of the largest specimens found on remote windswept Central Island. Besides all, it is Kenya’s most remote destination, but one that repays the intrepid travelers with rich rewards.
Koobi Fora Museum & Prehistoric Site
‘The Cradle of Mankind with fossils four times larger than today’s’
Situated along the Eastern shores of Lake Turkana, Koobi Fora Site and Museum, is a World Heritage Site popularly known as the Cradle of Mankind, where you get to enjoy spectacular sunsets and teeming wildlife. On site are mainly extinct fossils like the crocodile, giraffe and tortoise at least four times larger than today’s.
It is a very important site for Hominid Fossils, famous internationally since Richard Leakey’s discovery of ‘1470’ a 2 million year old skull of Homo Habilis.

Wildlife
